Set Your VsCode configuration in any machines using Github GIST

If you are looking to share your Vscode’s settings. Read the details in this article. Settings Sync needs to create new Public GitHub Gist to share your settings with other users and your’s other machine.

Download and Install VsCode

I am assuming u have VsCode installed in case u don't have to download it from here.

Step 1:- Open VsCode

When you will open VsCode. You will see it like this.

Step 2:- Download Settings Sync extension

You will see a setting button in the left bottom corner. When you will click on it, then you will find a dropdown menu bar, select Extensions from this list.

After selecting Extension, type Settings in the search bar there will be show settings related extensions automatically then select Settings Sync from these extensions. After selecting, you will see the install’s green button, install it and reload the after install.

After installing and reloading, press Shift+Option+D you will see the following window.

In this window, you will see multiple options. If you have already gist id then click on Download Public Gist.

And, If you are setting the first time then click on LOGIN WITH GITHUB button.

Step 3:- Login Git

After clicking, LOGIN WITH GITHUB it will switch to the GitHub login page. When you will be login.

It will ask for authorizing Settings Sync.

If you will authorize it will show you a success page.

Step 4:- Sync Settings

After closing the success page, you will see if you had any toke then you find here if you don’t then you will new. Select toke from following.

When you will select the token setting sync automatically.

It Syncs these from VsCode.
